The History of Accounted For:
December 2002 Peter and Glenda Milne sang their first song in this area to a small group at First Baptist Church in Thompson Falls. It had always been a special blessing for them to sing together as a duet, but this time with immense pleasure they introduced their 16 year old son Petie, singing bass. What a talent and vocal range he had, even so young! Petie’s Mom and Dad started singing again to encourage their son’s ability and try to help exhort others. They themselves have had the Saviour miraculously lift them up through the care of other dedicated Christians. The Milne Family Trio began.
Not too many folks from Montana, let alone the booming metropolis of Trout Creek are familiar with Southern Gospel harmony! Peter, Glenda and Petie sang over the next 3-4 yrs mostly in Churches, though they have stood on a flat bed trailer at a chicken jamboree, and sang to a public high school music class, a radio station, a Senior citizen hall, a fundraiser for a woman with cancer, and of course all day singin and dinner on the grounds events. They have sung in Alaska, Washington, Wyoming, Massachusetts, Vermont, Idaho and New York, oh, and Montana…
In the spring of ‘06, The Milnes added a baritone, Aaron Hoover, the son of their Pastor, to the blend. At 15, Aaron added just the right tones and helped them for several months. His brother Alexander joined as a tenor in the summer and replaced Glenda. At last a male quartet that Peter and Petie have always wanted. Opening for local games with the National Anthem was and is always an honor.
In the fall of 2006 the group officially became Accounted For, and welcomed Dana Burns, resident of Big Fork. He joined, and for a little while alternated with Aaron as baritone. This group had the great blessing of being able to sing a lot in Kalispell for Churches and the Montana Southern Gospel Music Association. The Milne Family Trio and Accounted For have opened for numerous groups.
The Lord continued to provide more and more opportunities for service, which increased practice and traveling times beyond the Hoover’s capabilities. Glenda resumed her role at the alto position. We are thankful for Aaron and Alexander’s time with us. Everywhere the group went they of course bundled up little Cooper. Young mind’s have such an amazing ability to remember huge volumes of material! She memorizes verses every year and has boldness to quote them for the public at concerts. Amen! She has also willingly begun to sing! The group averaged over 40 dates for the years 2007 and 2008. At Last, Dana, Peter, Petie, Glenda and Cooper finished their first CD- “This Ole House” and began selling this product in the spring of 08. What a miracle this album was from start to finish! Dana Burns stayed with the group for 2 terrific years. One would dare say they had more fun than any gospel group should ever be allowed! Dana provided a wonderful balance of talent and abilities. He is and always will be their special friend. Petie and Dana used to work together in Kalispell for a construction company. With the poor economy they lost their jobs. Dana had to move to Choteau to take a job and the distance to travel to practice and join with the group for concerts became too much of a burden. Pray for him as he continues to serve and allow the Lord to lead his steps. He will be missed. Aaron Hoover is filling in as baritone once again. Every summer they have a hometown concert which is well attended. Accounted For hopes and prays to be able to continue to travel back East every year. Other places they are working on bookings for are: Florida, Oregon, California, Texas, Alaska to infinity and beyond!!
Please pray that they continue to allow only the Lord to write their history.
Our desire for our future is to be in the center of our Lord’s will. In every way we want Him to open and close doors. We must say He is blessing thus far! We have tremendous examples of His divine intervention in individual lives already. We want to make a difference for the Saviour in this dark world.
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily while it is called to day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
I Tim 4:12-13
Let no man despise thy youth: but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Hebrews 10:22-25
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
