Glenda Milne – alto
Glenda attended a summer camp with her brother and accepted the Lord as her Saviour at age 11. Not soon after, she began singing alto with her best friend Heidi for specials in her church. Heidi has a wonderful soprano voice and plays the piano and flute actively to this day. Then there was a trio when we added Carol! Glenda would love to someday be a member of a ladies quartet! During her high school years she was in chorus and musicals.
At Baptist Bible College East Glenda joined the choir and “The Sounds of Joy”, a ladies chorale. It was here she met her future husband. Peter recalls the thing that caught his attention- her solo at a Christmas program, a light hearted number, and she SPOKE the part: “His nose like a cherry all wrinkled with fun…” but that’s a different story… An occasional duet during their first years of marriage, and singing with children, kept music alive and well in the Milne home. “I’ve always had a desire to direct a children’s choir, there is nothing more delightful than a child’s singing voice!” Glenda says. So when her own son began enjoying music with her husband and her, of course there was much encouragement.
Glenda has been part of this ministry since its inception. She wanted to see “Accounted For” as a male quartet, so she graciously stepped down for a while and helped coach and critique. Once again, she is back to her post. Glenda provides a perfect blend amongst this group of guys. Glenda’s spirit and drive is truly a God given gift.
Peter Milne – lead
Life began for our lead singer in a home with father A. A. Milne, brothers Peter, Paul and mother Mary. With names like that, surely there is a famous person or group in the making… !!!!
A friend of Peter’s Mother accepted Christ while watching a televised Billy Graham crusade! She then passed the good news onto Mary, who then saw to it her sons heard the gospel. Peter was 16 when he received Christ. Being a very good Baptist, Peter was introduced to Southern Gospel Music right away. His first interest was the Kingsmen Quartet, with of course their high tenor and low bass. Leading the congregation singing as a young man became an expected duty, and he was good at it, too. He also formed a few quartets for Church services.
In 1984 Peter married Glenda, and a lifelong singing partner was added. They sung specials in Church once in a while. Peter never stopped loving the close male harmony of quartets. Some of Peter’s favorite singers in the Southern gospel world are Jim Hamill, Glen Payne, Squire Parsons, Mark Trammell, Steve Ladd, and the list goes on! Nearly every day, every hour in the Milne home you will hear Gospel music being played. One might say Peter Milne is a lead singer- but that does not just mean he sings the melody line. He’s a leader to his friends, Church, in his home and to his children with the world of music and Godliness. His own son Petie is a testament to this Gospel music saturation. As Petie began to mature and show capable talent, Dad decided perhaps the Lord would have them “go public” with it! One thing led to another, and for 5 years the doors have been swinging open wide.
Peter has a unique style of singing; very strong vocals and excellent ability to sing stories of truth. He is a master at re-telling ageless stories from Scripture. There is no lack of excitement and thanksgiving in his personal redemption experience! Testifying of Our Saviour’s love through song is one of his favorite things to do.
It is very clear that Peter Milne wants The Lord’s will in every direction Accounted For quartet should go. Please pray for him as he leads this group down the straight and narrow path. Peter and his group believes singing gospel music is another tool used for bringing lost souls to accept the Saviour as their own, and exhorting and encouraging his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Dana Burns – baritone
[We're still working on how to explain Dana. :) ]
Pete Milne – bass
Prior to age 14 Petie wanted to be a tenor, then you know what happened, his voice changed. His Dad was ALWAYS playing Southern Gospel music. Most evenings the Milne men were found gathered around their computers hooked up to their favorite CD and joining the harmony. With George Younce and Tim Riley always in his ear, Petie began his love for southern gospel music bass. Petie has a growing personal desire to serve the Lord with his voice in song.
Mrs. Jan Olsen was one of the first adults outside of his parents to encourage his career in singing. Mrs. Olsen was his vocal coach for 3 years. She also spent much time coaching The Milne Family Trio, to which they are greatly thankful. During the summers when Petie was 17 and 18, with the blessings of support from the Montana Gospel Music Association, his parents, Mrs. Olsen and their dear friends Lanny and Terri Ross, Petie attended classes at the Stamps Baxter School of Music, in Nashville, TN.
Petie is now living in Kalispell and excited about the future of traveling and singing about his Saviour and telling the good news of His salvation! Which- by the way, happened when he was 6. His mother tells of the glorious moment and the prayer uttered from a sweet, sensitive young child’s heart.
