Glenda Milne – alto
Glenda attended a summer camp with her brother and accepted the Lord as her Saviour at age 11. Not soon after, she began singing alto with her best friend Heidi for specials in her church. During her high school years she was in chorus and musicals.
At Boston Baptist College Glenda joined the choir and “The Sounds of Joy”. It was at a Church nearby that she met her future husband. An occasional duet during their first years of marriage, and singing with children, kept music alive and well in the Milne home. “I’ve always had a desire to direct a children’s choir, there is nothing more delightful than a child’s singing voice!” Glenda says. So when her own son began enjoying music with her husband and her, of course there was much encouragement. She adds: “I’ve never forced my children to get up and sing with us. Our daughter Joliene has always been supportive and can sing, but chooses not to, and that’s just fine! She has an incredible talent in photography, so she helps us in that area. As long as they are all using their gifts for the Lord!” Of course there is Cooper, who you will meet later: She is a complete treasure, as all 3 of their children are. This history would not be complete without mentioning our latest musical family member: Donna Curry. About 2 years ago Glenda began praying for help. Real, serious vocal coaching for skill and to point her to healthy, natural, and an energized voice. An answer to that cry came in the person of Donna. Lessons continue still nearly every week, with the addition of the guitar. PROVERBS 15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Glenda has been part of this ministry since its inception with administrative support and a lot of writing. Glenda provides a perfect blend with her voice amongst this group of guys. Glenda’s spirit and drive is truly a God given gift.
Peter Milne – lead
Life began for our lead singer in a home with father A. A. Milne, brothers Peter, Paul and mother Mary. With names like that, surely there is a famous person or group in the making… !!!!
A friend of Peter’s Mother accepted Christ while watching a televised Billy Graham crusade! She then passed the good news onto Mary, who then saw to it her sons heard the gospel. Peter was 16 when he received Christ. Peter was introduced to Southern Gospel Music right away. His first interest was the Kingsmen Quartet, with of course their high tenor and low bass. Leading the congregation singing as a young man became an expected duty, and he was good at it, too. He also formed a few quartets for Church services.
In 1984 Peter married Glenda, and a lifelong singing partner was added. Peter never stopped loving the close male harmony of quartets. One might say Peter Milne is a lead singer- but that does not just mean he sings the melody line. He’s a leader to his friends, Church, in his home and to his children with the world of music and Godliness. His own son Petie is a testament to this Gospel music saturation. As Petie began to mature and show capable talent, Dad decided perhaps the Lord would have them “go public” with it! One thing led to another, and for 6 years the doors have been swinging open wide. In the last 2 years Peter has also been assisted by Donna Curry for vocal coaching. She has shared her wisdom, experience and enthusiasm.
Peter has a unique style of singing; very strong vocals and excellent ability to sing stories of truth. He is a master at re-telling ageless stories from Scripture. There is no lack of excitement and thanksgiving in his personal redemption experience! Testifying of Our Saviour’s love through song is one of his favorite things to do. Donna Curry is his dear friend and vocal coach.
Peter, Glenda and Cooper are members of First Baptist Church of Heron. If the group is not out singing, Peter, well… of course… leads the music on Sunday morning.
It is very clear that Peter Milne wants The Lord’s will in every direction Accounted For should go. Please pray for him as he leads this group down the straight and narrow path. Peter and his group believes singing gospel music is another tool used for bringing lost souls to accept the Saviour as their own, and exhorting and encouraging his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Aaron Hoover – baritone
Enter stage right we have Aaron Hoover, youngest son of Russell and Lisa Hoover. You might call the Hoover’s circuit riding preachers and singers. Beginning his journey in Sonora, California, where he was born. Aaron was saved at age 9. With 2 older brothers Adam and Alexander, you can plan on amazing harmony and powerful hymns. Preacher Hoover served in Cocolalla, Blanchard and Hayden, Idaho. From there the Hoovers joined the Missionary endeavors in Yellow Knife, Northwest Territories. Their deputation took them all over the West and Mid West. In addition to Aaron’s vocal skill he plays the violin. The Hoovers now reside in Heron, Montana, where Preacher Hoover has been the Pastor for almost 8 years. Peter, Cooper and Glenda are members there with Aaron. Aaron is very interested in Missionary piloting and will be a student of Pensacola Christian College, Lord willing, beginning January 2010… (unless all of his fans can convince him to stay with Accounted For!).
Pete Milne – bass
The church children’s choir was rehearsing the hymn: Mansion Over the Hilltop. Petie was 8 years old and remembered the terror he felt when his leader asked him to sing… “A mansion my own!” ALONE at the end of the verse. The huge fuss he made was big enough for his teacher to add more kids. Perish the thought of singing 4 words all by himself! Prior to age 14 Petie wanted to be a tenor, then you know what happened… his voice changed. His Dad was ALWAYS playing Gospel music. Most evenings the Milne men were found gathered around their computers hooked up to their favorite CD and joining the harmony. With George Younce, Glen Dustin, Jeff Chapman and Tim Riley always in his ear, Petie began his love for southern gospel music bass. Mrs. Jan Olsen was one of the first adults outside of his parents to encourage his career in singing. She worked with him for 3 years and spent much time helping The Milne Family Trio, to which they are greatly thankful. During the summers when Petie was 17 and 18, he attended classes at the Stamps Baxter School of Music, in Nashville, TN.
PT is a young man honored, humbled, and willing to use his voice for the Lord. He is enjoyed by both young and old. Praise the Lord for the redeemed of the Lord saying so…
PT is now living in Kalispell. Bible Baptist Church is where he is an enthused member. He is enthralled with studying Scripture there, fellowshipping and taking truth’s out to his peers. You can find him at Colter Coffee, on Main St, most Sunday afternoons (when he’s not out with Accounted For). It is there with Levi that invigorating Bible dialogue can be heard. PT is excited about the future of traveling and singing for his Saviour and telling the good news of His salvation! Which- by the way, happened when he was 6. His mother tells of the glorious moment and the prayer uttered from a sweet, sensitive young child’s heart.
Cooper Milne – All around cutie
Cooper made her public debut at age 4. At 7 years old, Cooper has the special gift of captivating audiences either by her singing, or by throwing dolls in the air, or befriending people during a concert. It is a true blessing to have Cooper take part in our ministry. It is our prayer that Cooper will be a blessing to you as well. Cooper loves to sing, be sure to come hear her sometime.
