“Turn It Up…”
Sometimes I am in a very quiet music listening mood. Other times I prefer artist pieces of perfect skill. Most of the time I have thundering loud classical crashing playing way too loud when I clean. Then there are special moments reserved ONLY for the Perrys.
Its for sure we all have our own styles and preferences. With humility I admit that MY music might NOT actually be EXACTLY Heaven’s same tune *gasps*. Ponder what the Lord is gonna do with all of the different types of music out there… how ‘on earth’ is He gonna satisfy us all!? (like we think He has to) I mean, just imagine the possibilities…ballet, boogiewoogie, nocturnes, raps, rhapsodies, ragtime, chorals, overtures, folk, impressionistic, symphonies, swing, suites, soul…southern gospel…!!? Peter and my belief is that we will be mighty surprised, do you concur?
A dear friend of ours relayed a VERY sentimental and inspiring true story. A woman in her 40’s was diagnosed with cancer and as she was going through the treatment process she gave her life and heart to the Lord and Saviour. Hallelujah. As she lay ready to die her daughter-n-law was by her side. The woman was in and out of consciousness. The final conversation went something like the following:
At one point she opened her eyes and asked her daughter-n-law: “Where’s that music coming from?”.
Very puzzled her daughter-n-law said: “Mom, there’s no music playing, what is it you hear? Sleepily she said: “…the music, it’s beautiful, can you hear it? It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard…”
The daughter-n-law said: “No, Mom, I don’t hear anything.”
The dying woman replied: “turn it up…!”
Her saved daughter n-law advised: “Mom, you need to close your eyes, rest, and go to this music… go see where it is.”
The woman did so. She closed her eyes, and slowly her soul departed, all she left were tears running down both her cheeks.
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! True story brothers and sisters! PSALM 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Wouldn’t you just LOVE to hear that music? What a thrilling testimony of that glorious day when we shall see Christ. However He greets us, I Can’t Wait! In the meantime, glorify The Lord with your Music, win a lost soul with it or encourage a fellow believer, and by all means… Turn It Up!
