April 2008 Newsletter

Greetings,

Once again, it is the fearless leader at the pen this month. Now that everyone is waiting with baited breath, let me proceed.

1200 miles in one weekend for us is a pretty good chunk. God was faithful as always. He protected us, even while Dana was driving [you had to be there]. We met a whole bunch of new people and made new friends. We must say thank you to the churches that had us and made us feel welcome. Everywhere we went this weekend was somewhere new to us. Thank you for trusting us and allowing us in your church to share the gospel in song. Special thanks to Jerry and Eunice! Lock your doors, we will be back! Lunch was spectacular, as well as driving on full stomachs. Seemed all we wanted to do was sleep. 🙂

For those of you that weren’t part of this weekend, it was by far our toughest. Nothing like traveling with one subsiding case of the stomach bug and one active one. God prevailed and allowed things to be quiet when we needed them to be. Regardless of how we were feeling, it is good to know that when it comes time to sing, the Love of our song is exciting enough to us to make all the woes of life go away.

How about you, have you lost the love of your song? Turn to the Lord and He will make it afresh. Daily struggles have a way of knocking you down. Satan wants you to be discouraged and feel like you are doing no good. You can do great things for God, in spite of yourself. I will be honest, there are times when doing what we do requires a lot of effort. Sure enough, we go through the same everyday struggles as you do. This is when I need to look inside and see the reason I am doing this. The bottom line is the salvation of the lost and trying to be a blessing to others. Lastly there is joy; the joy of doing it via singing.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col 3:16

Thought I would give a brief pictorial run down of our trip:

This is what Dana did most the trip————–

This is what I did most the trip—————-

Glenda and Coop—————-

Last but not least, this is ALL that PT did—————

Thats about as much as my attention span will allow me to contribute. If you want to see if we are going to be near you, here is where you can check out our schedule: gospelgigs.com

Have a blessed month!!

  1. Pete,

I’m so excited to read your newsletter. I prayed for y’all during the weekend. And I prayed that every time you stepped on a platform to sing, that God would release His anointing on you all, on your singing, and on your physical bodiesfor health and strength. Praise God. I’m not takig credit. I give Him all the glory, and praise Him that He heard and answered my prayers for y’all.

You’re all such a blessing! Wish I could get y’all down here in FL!!

    Blessings!!!

    Bob
